Having worked in the insurance industry in areas of strategy, research and corporate communications for a decade, a Nigerian, Idongesit Mbat, understands the challenges the populace and Insurance companies are facing, the first of which is the low level of awareness across the board in the country
He therefore wasted no time in floating the Insurance Awareness and Advocacy Group (IAAG NIGERIA) to support the insurance industry in driving the awareness of insurance to the grassroots. And so, as part of the activities lined up to reach about 20 million Nigerians in 3 years, the IAAG in conjunction with the Federal Road Safety commission, FRSC, held the ‘FLAGG-OFF OF MOTOR INSURANCE AWARENESS CAMPAIGN’.
The date was the 18th of February at the Public Education Hall, Ojodu, headquarters of the Lagos sector command of the Frsc. In attendance were the sector commander, Mr Hyginus Omeje and his top officials, Mrs Omole, who represented Director General of Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA), the Vice Chairman of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), representative of the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation, Commercial transport Fleet Operators, the Press and the general public. The occasion also featured the Live Demonstration of NIID Motor Insurance Certificate Verification System.
