A former governor of Ogun State of Nigeria and a chieftain of the ruling party, APC, Chief Olusegun Osoba, has admonished members to close ranks and work for the victory of the party at the next gubernatorial elections and at the federal level.
The veteran journalist and administrator spoke at a meeting of party faithful, held at his residence in Abeokuta, the state capital recently. Noting that the party has not endorsed any candidate as the primaries have not been concluded, Chief Osoba warned members to desist from tagging some gubernatorial aspirants as ‘Tekobo’, which in the Yoruba language means ‘Lagos Returnee’. Osoba said “I am a ‘Tekobo’, ditto for Gbenga Daniel, also a former governor of Ogun State”.
“Anybody who has sojourned in any part of the nation can aspire to govern his state without any form of hindrance as he can bring his wealth of experience to bear in running the affairs of the state, if he is elected. Irrespective of the aspirant you support, the overall good of the state and Nigeria is paramount”, The Father-figure of Ogun State added.
The party members had converged at his residence in thanksgiving and to welcome him from a successful medical trip abroad.
