Afro-Highlife musictin, Kola Ogunkoya, aka Gbedu Master has shared his thoughts on why he dedicated his new work, ‘Funkysaxfuji’ to the Fuji Icon, K1, the Ultimate.
In a chat with Global Harmony Magazine from his US base, he says K1 deserves the honour on his recent installation as the Maiyegun of Yoruba Land, a traditional title, and his unveiling as a Centennial ambassador of the prestigious Ijebu-Ode Club.
He gives credit to K1 as a Pace-setter, who has worked hard, over the years, to internationalize Fuji jazzyfied rhythms as a music Idiom to the whole world
‘Funkysaxfuji’ is a piece of saxophone cover that Kola got from K1’s memorable hit, Funky Fuji. The song is also intended to Break the Ice on a boring entertainment scene and soothe nerves during this lockdown
